CSI Lawyer 12.1 update package 15.1.25
15. January, 2025 | Version UpdatesThe new update package for CSI Lawyer 12.1 has been released. Below you’ll find a list of the software defects fixed in the update package as well as the new functions it brings.
FIXED SOFTWARE DEFECTS
General
- When the new green CSI theme was in use, filtering the views was not possible in narrow columns, because the funnel icon could not be displayed in the column header.
Conflict checks
- The conflict check performed on the matter request was not saved if there were parties that lacked the “is_primary” information.
- When a conflict check was performed on the matter request, the “Other parties” list of the conflict check was editable and a party added later to the matter request was not updated in the conflict check.
Entries
- The power user was unable to add notes to invoiced expenses.
- In the transaction window, the lock icon for the transaction’s unit price disappeared after saving, if the lock was activated, and the unit price could no longer be changed.
Invoicing
- The mass creation of preliminary invoices randomly timed out because there were unnecessary database connections hanging open. After the correction, there are fewer open connections at a time.
- It was possible to incorrectly change the invoice payer when the matter had exceptional VAT handling, but the tax rate of the new payer and the invoice was the same. After the correction, the software displays an error message in that situation.
Integrations
- When a document management system was attached to CSI software, and the first save of the day was to add a team member to a protected matter having a large number of files, other users could not get CSI software up and running until the permission update to files was complete.
- When the Outlook Add-in was in use and the default duration was defined for the transaction type, the hours worked remained empty in the transaction which was created automatically when sending an e-mail.
NEW FUNCTIONS
The Owner, Matter Responsible and Latest Entry Date columns in the Matters list of Conflict checks
- To facilitate conflict checks, the columns Owner (matter owner), Matter Responsible (matter responsible) and Latest Entry Date (date of the last transaction or expense entry for the matter) have been added to the Matters list in the Conflict Check window.
Clarification of the Billable matters list
- In order to simplify the calculation logic of the transaction total for billable matters, the parameter Billable matters > “Only show matters with open transactions or expenses” has been removed from the business unit level. The Billable matters view now always lists transactions and/or expenses that are either open or on an open or reviewed preliminary invoice. The status of a transaction or expense can therefore be Open, Reviewed or on Preliminary invoice.
Transferring and updating user rights to NetDocuments
- If necessary, you can now update the access rights for matters for a single matter or for several matters at once. In practice, it is necessary when deploying NetDocuments or if the access rights update has failed for some reason. The function is visible on the matter lists and in the Settings area and can also be performed on closed and/or archived matters.
- The function can be found in the Settings area > Software Management > Plugins > Update access rights to NetDocuments.
- When the function is selected, a pop-up window opens with the following selections:
- “Update only matters that are protected”; if selected, access rights will only be updated for matters that were already protected. Otherwise, unprotected matters are also updated.
- “Also update closed matters”; if selected, access rights are updated for closed and/or archived matters in addition to active matters. Otherwise, only active matters are updated.
- If an error occurs when updating the access rights of one of the files in the matter (the file is checked out, for example), it is skipped and continued to the next file.
